Equal opportunities and diversity
We embrace diversity as it provides the valuable variety of experiences and
perspectives we need to excel in the global marketplace. Our 23,000-strong
global workforce, located mainly in Australia and Singapore, comprises a
rich mix of people of different races and around 70 nationalities.
All our people are selected strictly based on merit in accordance with non-discrimination
and fair employment policies. We promote equal employment
opportunities within the company and are committed to creating a work
environment free of discrimination or harassment on the basis of race,
colour, religion, gender, national origin, disability or age.

In October 2010, Singtel signed the Employers' Pledge of Fair Employment
Practices with the Tripartite Alliance for Fair Employment Practices
(TAFEP), as well as the Memorandum of Understanding with UTES on the
Re-employment of Older Workers. The latter formalises the re-employment
policy at Singtel, ahead of legislation in 2012 which will require companies
to offer re-employment to their staff when they reach the current statutory
retirement age of 62.
The ethnic distribution of our workforce is representative of the national
average ethnic distribution in Singapore. |
